We have been married seven years and he still writes me poems.
I just love him and will never take him for granite.
I’m quite a ways away from you
And I’m quite a ways today
And I had thought a time or two
If I had brushed it all away
But the water in my eyes you know
Is much too hot for rain
And as it tears my face it speaks
Reminds me of your names
say don’t leave a single thing
of all the smiles behind me
try to write it down, this mess
so someday you might find me
find me now a few more miles
if one or two or three
it hardly ever rains in here
that’s not enough for me
I just wish you’d be there
And that I’d look up and see
That I could be right back with you
Or you could run to me
And I ache to know
Where it all will finally go
There’s so much out there
How is it you might find me?
I try to write it down, this mess
So someday you might find me
