How to get a baby out from under a car while pregnant and unable to lay flat on the ground:

#1 - recognize the problem (not usually an issue because of the blood curdling scream coming from underneath the car)

#2 - get there as fast as you can (again, not usually a problem, if your child is under a car your imagination takes you places you'd rather not go)

#3 - don't even try reaching, even if you can get to her/him, what are you going to do, drag them along the concrete? (not that I did that or anything)

#4 - try to redirect them in a path that their heads will not get bumped again (all through a continuing blood curdling scream)

#5 - act as if nothing is wrong and call to them with a 'sing song' voice (remember, too fast gives you away, keep it slow and sing songy)

#5.5 - assure the neighbors that you are just playing a game and that everything is just fine.

#6 - praise them for coming out from under the car

#7 - discipline them for getting under there in the first place (it really confuses them after the praise!)

How do I know this? Samantha did it twice within an hour tonight while I was attempting to fill those flower holes my neighbor dug for me.
The garden looks great but I can't say the same for Samantha's head. She must have hit something the first time that knocked her memory out of wack allowing her to do it a second time. She is crazy!

Ok, so that was funny. I wish I had been there to "cheer you on"
Really! It would have been just as quirky for me to stand there and do that or to have had me, your achy back Mother down on the ground with you trying to coax her out! This reminds me of my "camper" story. HAve I ever told you that one? Ask me sometime if not. Mom
