Know what this is?
For those of you familiar with what it's like to live on a military base - if I told you it was 4:30p in the afternoon, would that help?
At 4:30p everyday the National Anthem blares across the loud speakers and everyone, including this 2 and 3 year old, stops everything they are doing (and in Lydia's case you can see that it was quite a lot that day) to observe and show respect.
This 27 year old just about cries every time. Not sure whether it's that I am so thankful that we live in this great nation or whether I'm proud of my little girl and her ability to stand still with her hand over her heart for that long or whether it's just the combination.

Aww that's so awesome.
Wow, that's so great. Is this just something they do in Nebraska or is this something new? They never did it when I lived on base but I really wish they had.
I don't know Amber. I grew up in base housing and I always remember it being this way, great memories and now my kids get to have the same memories!
Okay, so I asked my mom about this and she said they did do this but because of the area of Wright Patt's base housing that we lived in, we were too far away to hear it. That's a bummer but at least I know I'm not losing my mind. I thought I surely would remember something like that! I'm glad your girls will have those memories! I know those years living on base are some of the best memories I have.
