A good friend (who happens to have a set of 3 yr old twins) was listening to all my ailments yesterday and told me that she has forgotten all 'those' details and wishes she'd written them down.
So, for no one else's sake but mine, here I go:
Holly's Top Ten Multiple Babies Pregnancy Ailments...
1. I get heartburn just looking at a glass of water, drinking it makes me nauseous for the next 2 hours. TUMS, I have gone through 4 bottles. It says take 2. 3 is what actually works (until I spot another glass of water)
Food, or other beverages - as hungry as I am - FORGET it unless it is truly unavoidable.
2. I knew that everyone had a pelvic bone before this but I wasn't aware of mine personally until now. I also wasn't aware that there is a piece of cartilage about 1/4 in. long that holds it together and during a multiples birth not only does it stretch to about 4 inches but it can also just break. BREAK!!!!!! (I did not sleep two nights ago because I read about it right before I went to bed. I was so terrified that I'd go to roll over at night and SNAP, there it would go. I have been contemplating carrying the phone in my pocket on a constant basis due to the fact that I feel this could happen at any moment.) Feeling that piece of cartilage stretch is the most painful thing on the face of the planet. Seriously, I'd rather be having a contraction. I can at least walk through most of those.
3. Cyatic nerve pinched = numb left leg. Solution? None. Please do not suggest one unless it's very creative - the typical ones are not feasible at the moment. (if anyone knows how to actually spell that nerve, please let me know so that I can change it!)
4. There are things swollen on the left side of my body that should not be swollen. More blood flow to that side apparently - I refuse to go into detail on this except to say that it is just gross.
5. Insomnia = a very grumpy mommy
6. Pimples - like EVERYWHERE, I think these are the first I've ever had in my life (just kidding, but I rarely get them so I really don't like this)
7. I am 30 weeks pregnant with TWINS and twice this week I have had someone say "I was going to ask if you were pregnant, but I wasn't sure" WASN'T SURE? Serious self image builder....Serious.
8. I am growing exponentially. In the beginning I was 4 weeks too big, 2 appointments ago I was 5 weeks to big...last time. Yep, you guessed it: 6 weeks bigger than a single baby. (No, I was not expecting to be small but this exponential thing is scaring me)
9. Maternity clothes were not made to fit you when you are 9 months pregnant (I think they figure you just really don't care by then), so, try being 9 months pregnant for 3 months!!!!!!! I look ridiculous and I'm hangin' out everywhere.
10. Not sure if you're pregnant?! Ah.
There, now I won't forget and neither will you.
