The unofficial answers

Ok, I am feeling the need to answer some cake questions,
I must say though that I am completely unqualified to answer these - all you have to do is Google fondant or pumpkin cake and you'll see what I mean - there are cakes out there that make mine look like a kindergartner did mine!

1. The marshmallow fondant is very different than regular fondant. It actually tastes super yummy and is mush easier to use. The instructions are about 6 pages long but that's because she is very detailed, really, there is only about 1 page of 'necessary' instructions - I loved all the detail, made it a no brainer.

2. The stem is a Ding Dong....very technical, I know. I put one under the fondant to stuff the 'hole' and one on top. Not sure that that really did anything other than boost my self worth by figuring it out all on my own.

3. The cake it two bunt cakes put together, iced with buttercream and then covered in fondant.

4. I put the candy corns all around the bottom to hide all my finger pokes.

5. The leaves and stem are made out of fondant but don't blow the picture up too large or you'll be able to see that they were an after thought. p.s. it's very hard to turn orange into green - sorta comes out black!

ok, onto the next cakes....Jake's birthday is this week so we are attempting some chocolate icing and my neighbors daughter is having a Belle Princess birthday party and provided everything goes as plan you will soon be seeing a princess cake! No pressure Holly.

A DING DONG!!!! Well now aren't you just the little crafty person. Whoda thunk it?

Thanks for the tips and the secrets of the pumpkin cake. When I try this, I'll make sure to have plenty of candy corns. lol
