the explanations:

between my Mamaw (she is sort of like my god-mother, only we're not Catholic) and my mother reading this blog so many things are made clear to me as to why I do the things I do the way I do them - here is one example:

I was somewhere between 1 and 3 yrs old in this story from my Mom:

So today, I remembered something about a certain little girl who was a “biter”. Hukilau Baptist Church (I was born in Hawaii) purchased and met in a converted large home. The nursery, one of the smaller rooms, had a big walk in closet. They took the doors off and put a gate across it and through a series of “biting incidents” that became Holly’s room! We had to separate you because you just insisted on having your own way most of the time and if you didn’t get it, you fixed it by biting that person. I know you knew about the whole biting thing, but I wondered if you remembered “your closet”? The whole “sound proof room” thing on the blog made me smile and remember!

And I was somewhere around 9 or 10 yrs old in this story from my Mamaw:

DO you remember you slept in the closet on our vacation together to Port Charlotte, Florida. You were not exactly thrilled but considering the other option was being in the living room with the "stinky boys" you chose the closet.
Love you, mamaw

see, I had closets too and I turned out COMPLETELY normal!
thanks mom, thanks mamaw....that made me laugh!

I LOVE the insights your mom and godmom add! I never would have guessed that you were a biter, you're way too sweet :) It just goes to show that all kids try out some crazy way to get someone to notice their wants/needs!

Well, I'm not sure if I call you normal, but yes, your girls will turn out just fine. I woke up in my closet once (I was about 3) and had no idea where I was. I screamed for a long time, finally pushed open the door and then screamed more. Took my parents a long time to hear me and come find out what was wrong. And I turned out... well, I'm still alive :)

You are a great mother!!
