Highlights

In no particular order here are a few of my favorite highlights from the most recent completed journal (I don't know how many of these I've completed but with the exception a few months here and there I have kept a journal since junior high!)

How will you order your private world to honor Christ? (Corrie Ten Boom)

Is your motivation in life the love of Christ or your comfort?

Time alone with God clarifies your mission.

ps 34
I sought the Lord and He answered me
He delivered me from all my fears
Those who look to Him are radiant
Their faces are never covered with shame

Talk about Christ in real time

Encouraging - to give courage, confidence or hope

Perseverance - to remain under
staying power proves our faith genuine, brings honor and is honored by God, and is the only SURE path to spiritual maturity
`stay to grow
`we choose staying power

Show compassion to those who need it, not only to those who deserve it.
Compassion must be practiced and learned.

love doesn't strut
love doesn't keep score
love doesn't revel when others grovel
always looks for the best
takes pleasure in the flowering of truth

We are God's first fruits. Let that impact how you live.

Temptation is all about pain management:
pain of resistance vs. pain of regret
pain either way
pain of resistance goes away
pain of regret is always with you

God's laws are not restrictive, they are protective. You will not escape temptation until you see it this way.

ps 112:8 His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
ps 119:32 I run in the path of your commands for you have set my heart free

He is the "bread of life" not bread is the "bread of life"
The needs in my life are not (and never will be) physical and can only be met by spiritual food.

Wow, Holly. This was awesome. I think my favorite was the last line: "The needs in my life are not (and never will be) physical and can only be met by spiritual food." If only I could remember that each and every second of each and every day - I'd be set! Thanks for this post!
