yesterday:
ok, woke up feeling 'better' (about 75%)
came out of my room to find this:
that would be NORA covered in.....drum roll please....hives. if you've been with us for any amount of time you know that is just a
Panter girl 'thing' and that Nora probably just felt left out, not ever having had them.
no idea where they came from, no idea.
whatever.
next, braved Wal-Mart
now, I do everything in my human body to avoid Wal-Mart but Jake requested the $6 crocs and so, since daddy is sacrificing for us, we braved the trip.....it was a normal Wal-Mart trip, that's all I'm gonna say in an effort to be positive here!
next, stopped in at Target because Wal-Mart was out of the crocs - oh yes, you read that right. again, stopping there in an extreme effort to be positive.
by the time we got home I was a tad shaky (still a little dehydrated and not wanting to eat a whole lot), mad at the world and the girls were being tough little cookies.
so, I told them to stay in the car for a minute while I went inside to find mommy (really, I just needed to scream in a pillow) and I walk up to my front door to find this:
I am not exaggerating when I say that I have THE coolest friends EVER. PERIOD.
(and no Erika, I was not dead in the house I was at the store, but thanks for shutting my front door and calling to see if I would answer ;-)
so, I didn't need to scream into my pillow after all, turns out tulips and Blackberry Nut bread are the cure to a shaky, depressed and mad mommy! who knew?
everyone in, down for nap, Nora's condition is the same.
finished up the day with playing outside, it was awesome:
(trying to minimize pictures of Nora on this day in order to save her dignity...poor girl! her feet were too swollen to even want to walk!)
after bed I headed to the kitchen and whipped this little guy up:
we had a Safari themed birthday party thing at MOPS today
(more pics on the cake blog soon)
a quick blog post to make sure all knew I was ok and alive and off to bed
today:
I'm back at 100% but still gun shy about what I'm putting in my mouth
NORA was worse this morning but still manageable - keeping a close eye on her, she looks miserable
off to MOPS
home to prepare for Neighborhood once a month ladies night out - hosted HERE TONIGHT!!!!!
actually, I'm really really looking forward to it! Some sweet neighbors agreed to take Lydia and Samantha up until bed time and the babies just LOVE to cuddle with strangers so it's almost like I'll be kidless for the first time since Jake left.....can I get an AMEN!!!! I am so needing the break and company of some of these incredible friends!!!! (who wouldn't with friends like this????)
ok, gotta go get up my beauties!

The cake is awesome. Sorry about the hives. Glad you are feeling somewhat better. Don't leave us in suspense. Did you get the crocs????
I can't believe that after a day like that you still find the energy to make such a beautiful cake! Hope Nora is on the mend :(
Samantha is just too cute with her pink cowboy boots on the wrong feet and her faded ink on her arms/legs! --Tina
