boundary testing day #2.
She has started that whole "smile over the shoulder and then run for it" stage only it's Sophie so it's all exaggerated to like a hundred million!
yesterday it was at the doctors office (always a pleasant trip with four toddlers - always!)
Today is was coming out the front door and heading straight to the street - 8 times in a row, each time immediately after a super tough discipline.
Never mind the large yard between the door and the street, that's just too boring to play in I guess!?
Nothing seemed to be working today but boy was I scared enough of her defiance to be super really consistent.
She is a funny funny girl.
Even in her worst of defiant moments I am laughing - and she knows it.
Whether I turn my head or not, she knows it.
The other day she saw me turn my head and cover my face so what does she do? Laughs and tries to pull my hand away so she can see mommy losing all self control.
Spanking have zero effect on her, a raised voice does even make her turn her head, but you take her away from the situation or take away the 'item in question' and boy oh boy - watch out.
And I mean it....watch out world, one day this Sophie girl will grab your attention and she is tough! So glad she is in our family. I might get jealous if someone else had gotten her! I would be more rested, but jealous for sure.
(this is 'the look' I get before she runs and yes, she has pulled out her adorable pony tail and yes, she was eating dirt....what can I say?)

My Sarah reacts the same way to disciple, it's nice to find something that works.
Amanda
I sure do know what you mean!! Roxanne has a way of making up for her badness with her cuteness too... it's the way of the devil!!! I think I have simultaniously laughed and cried on many occasions.
