ok, Stacy.
Wins.
Since you're praying for one everyday while Jake is gone, that will be my theme this time.
Everyday I'll record the wins and in a tough moment, I'll come back there and read them until I'm better!
So, Day #1:
1. I thought all my plants I planted last year in my garden were dead. I have seen no signs of life......UNTIL TODAY!!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE ALL ALIVE!!!! (there's like 9 or 10 of them!) Small green leave, red buds, green buds, it's all there - so exciting! Definitely a WIN
2. I started school with Lydia today. It's been on my mind for a long time so now everyday I'll put the rest of the crew down for nap but Lydia will get me all by herself for 30 minutes and we'll 'do school'. Nothing fancy to start. We'll just mosey through the summer with www.starfall.com and a little ABC/123 workbook from the grocery store!
We both had a blast.
It's always been my dream to attempt homeschooling my kiddos so today was part of a dream come true!
She had a blast and did a small victory dance every time she wrote the letter A - (I don't know who's kid she is?)
So that was like 2 WINS - one for me and one for Lydia!
(all her buddies go to preschool so she was just a tad excited to learn that now she too will be 'going to school')

I should really drink my own medicine. Awesome!!
Stacy
i lOVE doing school with my kids - i don't send them to preschool. and i'd love to homeschool - i just don't think i have it in me. anyways, we should share "ideas" - although we keep things REAL simple around here! :-)
So glad to hear of the wins. What a good idea to look back and keep those thoughts disciplined, thinking on the wins.
My kids love starfall. Emma learned her letters by watching Elias play on starfall. And just this week Elias started reading. It was awesome to personally help (train, guide, and even bribe) him through this awesome hurdle.
Woo Hoo for the first day of school! Way to go Holly and Lydia! (and WOW to your church...AWESOME!!) Having done way too many deployments myself(though none with 4 kiddos), I'm praying for your girls to do lots of good sleeping while Jake is away! Hang in there girl! (and come see us down here...it is cool!)
