I'm pooped.

I'm usually pooped but I have just learned to live with it and pretend to be awake so as not to bring everyone down who's around me and I just remind myself that this level of physical involvement will not always be necessary as a mother.
....but today I'm over-the-top-pooped.

10pm - bed!!! yea for me. it's been more like 12am and I needed to catch up, I was trying to be a good girl -
big time back fire:
12am - Lydia needed to pee - even at midnight this is a social thing for a young girl
3am - Sophie was thirsty
5am - beep. CHIRP. beep. CHIRP. beep. CHIRP. beep. WHAT IS THAT!!!!!!!??????????
beep = the smoke alarm (the power was out)
CHIRP = hundred of birds that came out after a REALLY REALLY bad storm last night
and I was able to hear them so well because the storm had blown my front door open, good thing I locked it! phew!?
5:15am - I, after trying really hard with a flashlight in my mouth, yanked the smoke detector out of the wall, put it on the front porch (figured it'd blend in with all the birds) and went back to bed.

so, I sleep through twisters touching the ground two houses away but not through peeing, drinking, beeping or chirping.
there is something very twisted and very backwards about all that!

cons: I woke up very tired (not caught up), we had no power, it was cloudy.
pros: I totally remembered where our emergency flashlight was AND it was there!, I had 1/2 a pot of coffee still in the pot from yesterday so I just fired up our gas stove and walah!!! I still had coffee with fried eggs! and it rained so hard last night that all the rain for the day was all gone by this morning.

We - me and the big girls - went to the Renaissance Festival this morning - very fun.
I should be banded from taking little girls to those things - I have no self-control....wands, flowers for your hair, face painting, dress up clothes, pickles, honey, funnel cake, etc....
we had fun....ok, I had fun.

AND THEN my precious friend let me drop off my four to play with her four (two plus twins also!) so I could shop for a few hours.
(I was getting really hot in my winter clothes now that it's not winter any more - I was in denial that summer would ever come, bad bad winter!)

My girls all had a blast today. I needed today.

pooped, yes, but no bucket of cookie dough needed tonight!

Ugh. Tornado 2 houses down? I hope everyone's ok.

Sounds like my nights at my house. Really...you're not alone there. My kids haven't figured out how to go pee by themselves yet in the middle of the night. And they do it in waves.

I do the same thing when I go out with the kids. They get toys, candy and stuff galore. My husband just rolls his eyes at me and points to the mountain of toys they already have. What can I say, no self control, and the kids are just so cute.
