just in case anyone else is confused...

...I know many of you live in tornado country but for my Colorado friends who are very worried that a 'twister' touched down two yards away I need to do some 'splaining.

when I say 'twister' it's not like a huge tornado that takes out a house.
it's just a small - really small - tunnel that takes out a tree in the back yard.
or, in this case, exactly half a tree and leaves the other part of the tree all twisted.

we are fine, everyone in our neighborhood is fine, the houses are fine.

the tree....not so much!

Thanks for the clarification...but even a "tiny" twister that took out a partial tree would have freaked me out! :O) Glad all is ok!

I finally figured out where the branches came from...did I tell you already?

This (formerly) freakishly tall tree that is down and over from us? The branches were twisted out of the top of it and flung into our yard. They hit with such force there are deep divots in the yard! If you look waaaaay up, you can see where the top of the tree is gone now!

I think we've been in tornado warnings for the past 3 nights. We've lost a few branches, nothing major. But yesterday I was sitting on the deck and all of a sudden there's a crash behind me! A big (not big enough to hurt me, but big enough to scare me) branch just fell out of the tree and almost landed on me! Ah, life in the midwest!
