I just have to record this

a moment I don't want to forget:

Lydia, Samantha and I work on memory verses almost every night during our bed time routine.
It is usually a giggle fest while I just sit there and repeat the same two verses over and over and over night after night after night.

But here's how it went down tonight:

Me: ok, let's say our verses
L: No, I want to do it by myself
M: ok!?
L: for I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you, plans to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future, Jer 29:11
M: (with small tears of laughter over the 'harm you' part) very good Lydia!
L: I want to do the other one! can you just say that one part of it? (interp: get her started)
M: 'for the fruit....'
L: for the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
M: goodness
L: goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Galatians 5:22-23....I'M THREE!!!
M: (overwhelmed with shock and so proud) great job Lydia!!!!

Samantha overheard all this and could not let her sister out do her:
M: do you want to say your verses with me?
S: No! I do it by myself.
M: ok, go ahead
S: I know the plans for you prosper you, not to harm you, hope and a future, Jer 29:11
M: WOW!!! Samantha (she usually giggles so loud through verse time that I didn't know she ever even heard me, let alone memorized it!) Ok, can you do the next one?
S: for fruit of the Spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
M: goodness
S: goodness, faithfulness, do you want some make up?
M: no thank you
S: gentleness, where's daddy?, self-control Gal
M: 5
S: 5, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness - (broke in to hysterical laughter)

PRECIOUS! And great encouragement to keep on keeping on even when you're not sure you're getting anywhere! Loved loved loved that entry! Ben also throws in random "I'm two" any time we talk about the number 2 :)

Very proud of you Holly...you prove that it's never to early to start training your children in the ways of the Lord, and you don't underestimate your children's ability to learn. How proud the Lord must be to look down on your girls and see such sweet sincerity.

This is why I love reading your blog. Not only is it funny and ridiculously charming, it gives me great ideas for ways to make faith a priority for Emelia. Thank you friend!
