playing house

the babies are 19 months now.
the big girls are almost four and almost three.

that means, the babies just cry out of frustration over not getting their way or not being able to communicate, all the day long.
and the big girls 'play house', all the day long.

what, would you think these two things have to do with each other? o, ho ho!!!

Jake and I were pointing out, once again, an irony of having what we have and he was laughing about the fact that at the end of the day, the thing that makes him the maddest is that because the babies have cried and cried and cried for silly reasons all day he just can't take it when either Lydia or Samantha are pretending to be a baby and pretending to cry.

So, babies, cry away over being frustrated but big girls, NO PRETEND CRYING.....your mommy and daddy can't take it!

I hear ya on this one! Loud and clear!
Our 2 year old spends most of his day crying out of frustration with the older kids. I don't know what to do about it, it seems to be just the way it is going to be until he gets big enough to communicate better and really take part in whatever they are playing.
We have a "no noise for the sake of making noise" rule. If something needs to be communicated, fine, say what needs to be said, but no repetative noises just to be making yourself heard....so I get the no pretend crying!!! There is plenty of real crying, no need for more...that is unnecessary noise : )
