quirks

things I don't want to forget about what my girls are 'into' right now:

Lydia:

"I will be 4 on my next birthday" - says this everyday, at least two times a day

won't approach a stranger unless Samantha does first, when Samantha does approach the stranger she can't say anything but this always gives Lydia the courage to go ahead and she does all the talking.

says "right?" after everything

she's knows which identical twin is which even when no one else does and corrects you if you're wrong!

always hugs her sisters when they are in trouble and tells them 'it's ok'

every time daddy says he's going to work she holds it together but very carefully asks 'for a long time daddy?' - you can see her bracing herself and you can see her relief without her ever making a noise

grunting after being told no to something - it's a tad disrespectful but funny too

creative story telling/always imagining

very into Princess stuff, playing house or restaurant, dolls, coloring, doll house and picking out her own outfits

the 'little mommy' - gives us play by plays of what her sisters are doing, whether we can see them or not

she is our 'leader'

Samantha:

it's like she swallows an 'adorable pill' every morning

everything is exciting, fresh, new, vibrant- all the time

taught herself to skip with one leg - it's indescribably cute

words:
finger nail polish = pingerpolish
lemonade = melonaide
lolly pop = polly pop
spicy = tycie

we get "Samanthanated" almost every night - it's our code for sneak attacked or just attacked - it's somewhat cat like.

LOVES MAKE UP!!!! sends her to the moon!!!!

she is our lolly gagger - always behind us

extremely sensitive, extremely happy, extremely sad, extremely funny, extremely cute, extremely content, extremely needy- just extreme
and causes you to feel that way in her presence.

twirls her hair - if she has pony tails in one is always curly from twirling and one it always straight

she is our 'depth'

Nora:

I am predicting she will be our 'other' little mommy

pats on the back, hugs, big time cuddler

cries the most intense, they share the time equally but she is more intense and spine curling

words: Mama, Daddy, Lydia, Sophie, Stop it, No, down please, thank you, amen, baby - and others like it

loves to sing "Nigh' night Nora" every night with me

wears things on her head - glasses, head bands, ear muffs, tiaras

HATES and is terrified by most loud noises - especially airplanes which is most inconvenient seeing as we live on an AIRforce base - I think I say "it's ok Nora, it's just an airplane" about 10 times a day.

even now at 20 months loves to color, paint and just do everything Lydia is doing

she and Samantha don't typically play together, which is funny to me?

gives the perfect, right in the center, exact pressure, kisses

she is our 'mature one'

Sophie:

entices you to play with her in one single split second look - it's the grin mixed with the tongue mixed with the wink and NO ONE can resist.

always wants to cuddle but the cuddling lasts about 30 seconds before she wants off again and is ready to play

eats a ton

says "No!" the most defiant of all of them

she isn't spooked by much or even phased by much but when Nora, who is all of that, cries, so does Sophie - just in case!

I have a VERY hard time keeping a straight face with both Nora and Sophie in the discipline area but Sophie really really makes me laugh - too much - a lot - it's ridiculous really.

gives kisses by clicking the roof of her mouth and just pointing her face in your general direction - physical contact is optional.

swaddles herself in her 'night night' - blanket - every night

words: mostly the same as Noras only Nora always says them first and then Sophie just says it because she did!

climbs, climbs, climbs

puts her hands on her ears, her elbows out straight and shakes her head very vigorously almost every night after dinner....just to get a laugh - hey! it worked last night!

she is our 'friend'

what a balance, what a crew.
if I could freeze time and just stay in one phase forever - NOW would be it.
I know it will get better but my heart gets sad to think that this is it for this stage in life
it's a one time shot.
no do overs, no take backs.
I'm going to get a tissue.

Love it, I can see my Sarah in both your girls, and what is with playing restaurant, Sarah loves that too. Glad to here they are normal. Oh, and Sarah is afraid she is going to be 5 and we not tell her, her birthday is in April and she is already worried. I am tempted to buy the birthday cake, eat it myself and not tell her. UMM. YUMMY. (Let's face it, that's the best part of kids parties, right!?!)

They are both so dear, and so sweet, in their very own ways.
