...to all your 'serious' concerns over my systems:
#1 - Stacy, I always dread the planning and implementing of my systems, they were all born out of necessity
#2 - Naomi, I am one of those weird half-breeds. I thrive on systems but I am a free-spirit (other wise known as rebellious) and can only 'systemize' my life to a certain extent and it's at it's max right now.
I do blog a lot - it's my journal, it's my record, it's my link to family and friends far away, etc...so, you won't get an e-mail from me very often or a note or even a phone call because all that time is spent doing this. Not sure how I feel about that but that's what it is right now. Also, my computer is in my kitchen - I'm here a lot.
#3 - Erika, I only have one husband too ;-)
other note:
along with the free-spirit stuff I do have these systems but they do not all always happen - they are there for me to fall back on when I loose complete control and need them. There are many times that we just go with whatever the day brings!
There has got to be room for God to do His thing on any given day.

what an inspiration you are to me! My sister found your blog a while back and told me to start reading it. I only have 2 girls but we all have bad days! This week I have had my sister's 2 girls so her & her husband can go on a vacation...he was in Afghanistan for 6 mos...so in the midst of the chaos in my house, i retreat to my computer in my kitchen (great place for it, don't you think??), pull up a bar stool and drink a coke while I read your posts! You are an amazing writer and I am encouraged daily by your Godly parenting. Keep up the great work!
God's continued blessings,
heather
Hey there Holly,
I'm so happy to have finally caught up to your current blog. I always read them oldest to newest and over the summer I have very limited internet access.
When I was expecting my first baby I read a great baby book that told me "these are systems for you to use. The system has to work for you, you must not become a slave to the system!" I love the freedom that came with that comment, because I love systems, but our whole way of life is a little fly by the seat of your pants and it is difficult to implement a set system all the time. I try to take the general idea to keep chaos at bay, then adapt as necessary. I love your system and will definitely be swiping some ideas from that. I especially love the break/bologna part. People thought I was crazy to still be giving my 1yo 2 naps a day, but I think they are crazy to stay up with cranky toddlers in order to put them to bed early. Just my defensive oppinion. Anyway ... blah blah blah. Keep on writing, I'm hanging on your every word!
If I seemed "seriously concerned", it was only for myself, and my lack of systems. You, however, seem incredibly competent.
Oh, and I am sorry you only have one husband.
