sisters

Lydia and Samantha have been getting along beautifully lately.
It's beyond precious.
One of my dreams for our family is that our girls would be close in the deepest of senses.
I know, as their mother, that they will not tell me everything - as much as I would hope for it!
But, I do dream that when they need a physical place to run, and they don't feel they can run to mom or dad, they can run to their sisters.
BIG DREAM, always heavy on my heart.
So, to see this relationship happening so young and to see them interact with each other in such loving and kind ways......well, it's a dream coming true.
I know, we have a long ways to go, but I'm savoring the gift it is now, right now!
It's neat.
Sometimes too neat.
Like today when I asked them why their little friend was telling me that she was hit and neither one of them would budge in telling me until they knew the one at fault would not be in trouble.

Neat always has a catch ;-)

Nora and Sophie......well, it's not as precious right now.
They are almost two and I don't want to talk about how they treat each other or other people - it's just embarrassing.
Let's just say that if you see a little curly headed toddler RUNNING away from someone with anything clutched in her arms - it's Sophie. She stole it and needs to give it back - preferably without laughing.
And if you see another curly headed toddler that looks very similar turn her shoulder and look down and her mother when asked to obey - it's Nora. She will obey but feels the need to stand her ground for a few seconds first.
OOH that will. Slowly but surely....it will break.
But man! they are just so darn cute.

When people ask, "Do they get along well?" I say, "They are best of friends and best of enemies". The rule is: No one gets left out, everyone plays, and it is amazing how well they play together...all three! The fighting is there but you end up forgetting the pain and remembering the joy!
