Jake finally got home later on Saturday night.
The girls really really really missed their daddy.
Even the little girls knew he was gone, that's a first for them.
Sophie would look out the window and ask, "Daddy outside? Where's daddy? Outside?"
ugh.
Nora would whine....:-)....more than usual....:-)
Samantha just gets super ultra sensitive, in both directions.
But Lydia made us both melt to the floor in a pool of butter yesterday.
Jake was walking around the house picking up shoes....a four times a day activity around here.
Lydia was following, as close as she could get.
Jake asked her what she was doing with a chuckle and this was her response:
brace yourself:
"I'm just following you around because I missed you while you were in Texas daddy"
She's four.
He immediatly stopped picking up shoes and picked her up instead.

i love the things my 4 year old says...that is so sweet! Definitely a daddy's girl?!?!
To comment on the shoe part of this post, we just packed up all but one pair of shoes for each child because of this very thing....now there can only be a maximum 10 shoes left outside rather than 100!
the things kids do to express themselves--how very sweet!
