It's fall...

....that means I can officially start working on Christmas stuff.
I know, roll your eyes....but I will be sipping on hot cocoa watching It's A Wonderful Life while you're in line at the post office and covered in flour from the kitchen ;-)

just in case you wanted to see what it might be like to be ahead this year and actually enjoy your traditions - here's what I used last year and it was simple, I loved it.

if you're one of those fun people who actually like the hussel and bussel then do not go here, it will zap your joy and that would be no fun at all.

(and if you think I'm way ahead of the game you are mistaken - Jake hears that's it Oct 1 and he runs to turn on Christmas music....I kid you not.)

LOL Sounds like our house! Except our holiday movie is "White Christmas". The kids started lobbying to watch it in JULY! I draw the line at watching it until October 1. ;)

I heart organizedhome.com and I use that Christmas countdown as well! It's so nice to be able to actually enjoy the season and concentrate on what it's *really* all about!

It's a Wonderful Life was always our movie at the Gresham's House too!! Nathan's family was a Charlie Brown Christmas... So I guess these Cargle's will have to watch BOTH!

Enjoy the Christmas music..maybe I can talk Nathan into letting me get our Christmas stuff out early - He says not till Thanksgiving! lol

You are my kind of people! I started my lists two weeks ago. And if I thought I could get away with it, Id have the cd's out and playing in full force the first time it hit 65 degrees!

You're not the only one. I'm half done with my Christmas shopping. It's always my goal to be done with shopping before Thanksgiving. However, Christmas music is banned until the day after Thanksgiving.

Great link (and no, it is not too early to start this stuff, considering we have little kids and time flies!). Here's another site I have been loving lately (and the most recent post is also dealing with Christmas readiness): http://simplemom.net/preparing-for-christmas-intro/

Okay I LOVE that you do this too. We are ALWAYS completely done Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving and the next day my tree goes up!! I love the holidays and they are way more fun WITHOUT the crazy lines etc. We are pretty close to done Christmas shopping RIGHT NOW, and that includes parents, family, and kids. Really we have like a gift per kid left and that is all!! Jealous??? Don't be I am having a baby boy in January, possibly December, and I need to RELAX and eat a lot!! Happy Holidays!

I Christmas shop all year round to help cut the chaos of the holidays (except for the year I thought I'd be gone, then I had to scramble!). But I'm a stickler for no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Now movies I'll watch any time--but my favorite holiday one is Scrooged :P
