just one of those days

nothing is majorly wrong
it's not an odd day
there is no 'reason' it should be a bad day
actually I have every reason for it to be a really great day
it's not getting me down that it's a bad day but it is just simply a bad day
and that's a weird feeling

I needed to go grocery shopping
I felt I had to take everyone because I'd used two of my neighbors help yesterday for another outing
So, I procrastinated going, which meant it was lunch time right in the middle of the trip.
that would be enough to make it a bad day but no

They were all in complete melt down while I was trying to order lunch and the little old dude from Karate Kid was checking us out and he was in NO hurry.
"Patience sensei" I felt like he was saying as he counted back three pennies - one....at....a....time.

Ok, drinks are here - let's just drink until the food is ready.
Where are all the straws? O? they're too short for the milk boxes which means they all fell into the milk boxes....good place.....so I hunted for four more straws, fixed all the boxes and then watched as Sophie and Nora spilled the milk all down the front of their nice clean shirts.

Just trust me, it's maddening.

AH! Thank you Sensei!!!
Food.
Who thought of those stupid stupid yogurt tubes anyway?
I felt like we had garden hoses filled with yogurt and we were yougurting the Target food court.
And, according to Sophie, mac 'n cheese is better eaten with your right hand while holding your spoon in your left hand.
It must balance out something.

a few more messes, steaming moments for mom, three trips to the 'potty',
three older ladies who trapped me at various points in the store,
while in the doors to leave we 'beep', for no reason,
I stop causing a rotisserie chicken to go flying and spill chicken grease everywhere,
I flew after it and dropped the diet coke in my hand,
someone was standing behind me also trying to leave (as if I were in the only set of doors) saying, "I'm not in a hurry, it's ok" (JUST GO AROUND ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!),
we are 5 feet from the car, finally, and I rolled the very very loaded grocery cart over Samantha's toe.
oh yeah.

we get home (with lots of melt down tears and emotional girly screaming because by now, it's nap time)
get down to nap and nap has been a disaster.

If you are on my Christmas card list and you are in the S to Z's and you feel like your address was written angrily, it was....I was not mad at you ;-)
I was sitting in the the doorway of two very naughty almost two year olds.

So, now 'nap time' (or whatever that was) is almost over and I'm not sure how rested I feel or they are.

It is date night tonight and we'll be talking about our family motto, goals and hopes for the future - I'm so in the mood after all this too. (yes, that was sarcastic)

I'll swap you--the ear piercing, going off for no good reason, no cover to open smoke detector at the house where I'm housesitting--and the creepy dog to boot.

Hang in there :)

Hey Holly,

With the yoghurt tube things try freezing them and giving them to the girls as an icey pole. Its what we all do here in Aussie land, kids think its a treat and yet they are still having something good for them.

The girls have growen up so much, its neat to see pics of them all the time on here.

Miss you all heaps
Kate :)
