my day.

(this is LONG so if you're in a rush but still need to catch up, I think you can just read the BOLD and still get the general idea ;-)

#1 - sorry that 'blah' has been the top post all day, blogger wasn't working at nap time!

#2 - what nap time? L&S woke up N&S and that made for a very mad M.

#3 - no joke...there is a gal at church, actually like three, that has two little boys ages 4 and 2 and is due with identical twin boys in 5 weeks. that's my cue. I started helping her with cleaning this week and will continue through until the babies are a few months old. lucky for me, I picked the one to clean for that is already super super clean! hmmm...maybe I should find something else to do for her?!

#4 - I'm not sure what exactly possessed me but yesterday I decided that all five of us girls should dress up the same for Halloween and that we should all wear poodle skirts and Jake should do the whole white t-shirt, tapered jeans, black shoes thing (no cigarettes though ;-).
OH! and I decided that I was going to SEW them myself. Yep. That's me....I might be regretting this later but as of now I decided yesterday, as mentioned, and today I already have it all bought (I went with felt - no hemming!) and all cut to size. Now I just have to actually sew them....hmm. The proof will be in the pudding, which around here, is in pictures.

#5 - As if that wasn't enough creativity for the day, I started on a new cake for a cub scout thing on Monday. (Cub Scouts.....now there's a world I will never know!)

#6 - I, in my distaste for 'Halloween', decided to organize a neighborhood/whoever needs it/whoever wants it FALL PARTY that just happens to be on Halloween night. We are up to 41 people and counting....I'm fitting the planning in somewhere between the frosting and the fusible webbing.

#7 - I am loaning out TWO ADORABLE TWO YEAR OLDS starting NOW for two years. I would like them back at age FOUR. You HAVE to have supernatural patience to qualify, thick thick skin, a steal skull (what's up with the head butting two year old thing?), a clear concept of why and how to discipline, need zero sleep, not mind large and extremely frequent messes, be able to tell them apart, know what the different cries/noises of the different twin means AND have a good answer for 'How do you do it?' to every stranger that seems to think they have the right or knowledge or permission to ask you....and I do mean just about every stranger....and literally EVERY stranger over the age of 65. Send applications immediately...they may not live much longer under my supervision ;-).

#8 - I have been to the gym 2 1/2 times this week and I am loving it....except for the 1/2 times.
Refer to #7 for the general idea as to why it was 1/2 and not a whole number.

#9 - Made more of that Chocolate Banana bread....sooo good.

#10 - Lydia's conversation with me before bed:
L: Mom, they said I had to get my wiggles out at church but I didn't have any
M: Oh?
L: yeah, I didn't know to bring them
M: where were they? (as I fight back tears because she's dead serious and I'm trying NOT to laugh)
L: in the bathroom trash (hee hee hee).....(pause and think).....but it was ok, Samantha brought hers so I just used some of them from her.

ok.

and at dinner Lydia heard us talking about #3, the last time we spent any great deal of time with them was when Lydia was pushed at the playground and had to get stitches and so her take on the conversation was to 'ask those boys at that one playground to not be pirates anymore so they won't push her anymore so we can go back to that playground' - TOTALLY OUT OF THE BLUE - from cleaning houses to pirates....so, we prodded a little more to what exactly was going on in her head - that kid even remembered what we were all wearing the day of her stitches!!!!

#11 - Thanksgiving and Christmas plans were pretty much solidified today. Early Thanksgiving in CO, Christmas in TX.

#12 - my house is just dirty.....nuff said.

#13 - I've had a great verse running through my head all day - been struggling with 'hot' temper with the girls (wonder why!?) and the Lord spoke this to me yesterday:
(excerpts from Ps. 4)
Do not sin in your anger....be silent and search your heart.

Be silent Holly and search your heart - 'why?' are you angry...it's working until about 4p and then I don't know what happens!?

geez. no wonder I'm pooped.

Okay, I love all the girls in poodle skirts. I can't wait to see pics as that is gonna be super cute! I hope making them is as non stressful as possible.

P.S. I'm gonna be Sarah Palin. I thought you might like that, too.

You are like 30x more productive than I was yesterday! I would pat you on the back if I were in the same state as you!

Cannot wait to see pics of the poddle skirt goodness! Love you

Wow, I need a nap after reading that. You're one busy gal.
So glad to see you're coming to CO. There is always at least the slightest chance you will have a few spare moments to redecorate my house for me while you're here, and I cling to that hope. ;-)Hehe.

If you get tired of sewing...resort to hot glue gun!! So much faster..and heck - it's only halloween costumes. That's how I did it before my mom finally bought me a sewing machine! But you'd never know unless you took them apart. I did poodles skirts and Snoopy & Woodstock with hot glue guns. This year they are getting cheer leader outfits that were given to them for their birthdays!! Tyler will be a football player! Eric is Tim McGraw...too funny.
