I didn't take a single picture - I'm sure you can guess why.
(and I know it's Sunday which isn't very close to Thursday but it's taken me this long to
decide to write about it!)
Still, it was a great day.
Doors opened at 3p.
Dinner was served at 5p.
A friend from church, a friend from work, two sets of neighbors, lots of food, one huge table, love and thankfulness all around.
This is how we do Thanksgiving in the military:
The friend from church was spending his first Thanksgiving away from family.
The friend from work had no where to go up until two days before when we found her!
The neighbors - one set we met a few weeks ago, are brand new here and it didn't dawn on us to invite them until the night before - of course they would come!, the other set are dear dear friends (however, we did miss you Melissa and Marvelly - it just wasn't the same - sorry you were sick ;-( thanks for sharing your husband and eldest with us just the same.)
we just mix us all together in one warm house and there ya go....Thanksgiving in the military.
We'll probably be doing the same thing next year....providing a family when family is too far away or too absent to be with.

Sorry I missed it too, but I'm glad my presence was missed, also glad that the pumpkin cheesecake and spinach pie were hits. (even though I already knew they were hits since I saw you tonight-but I just had to post it since you blogged about it):)
