THE MORNING PLAN:
to watch two little girls, in addition to my four, and bake a little (with no expectations)
IF we got to it, we (my four and one more three yr old) would decorate gingerbread men.
THE ACTUAL:
I didn't have a gingerbread man cookie cutter and the mommy of the TWO little girls (neighbor #1) thought she did but it was actually a falop.ian tube cookie cutter (or maybe it was two crossing candy canes?...we can't decide) either way, it just wouldn't work for gingerbread.
But neighbor #2 does have a man so I RAN in the -20 degree and snowy weather three houses down to retrieve this man. I not only acquired the cookie cutter but also a seventh little girl (it just didn't seem right to borrow the cookie cutter but not let her join!)
I figured if neighbor #1-2 were joining us, then so should neighbor #3 and her TWO little girls as well (it's in the water around here!) - that's NINE little girls.
Nora and Sophie, as you can see below, were not pictured - they are TWO, I'll leave it at that.
another post, another day.
in the mean time....
FIVE decoraters.
COUNTLESS gingerbread men.
SO much fun:
it cracked us all up to see the personalities of these precious girls coming out in their decorating....
like: Summer's was VERY full, Sydaliegh's was ALL BY HERSELF!
Lydia's was kinda in between 'perfect' and 'creative' - her personality came out in the barking of instructions to all her friends - hmmm.
Samantha's was CONCENTRATED and Emma's was OCD ;-)
here are a few of the KIDS eating their first gingerbread man.....wait....that sure looks like Summer's mommy!!!??? Oh well, no one said you had to be a kid to eat your first gingerbread man.

(ggrrrr...still working with just my camera phone - real camera should be back soon!!!)
