I am hitting very high highs and very low lows on this new training kick Becky and I are on.
My lows:
'stress' eating
stepping on the scale
not losing 60 lbs in 4 days - that's how it works right? in other words, not fast enough results
My highs:
I'm really doing this.....and it feels so great, fun, powerful, right, etc....I feel focused and balanced
I'm adjusting to the early mornings
I am getting in some reading/praying before I head out
And I must record the 'funnies' of our adventure so far:
~Two mornings last week we showed up at 5:30 am to a dark/closed building
(New Years Day is a federal holiday and it's a military gym....duh....and they don't open until 8am on Saturdays....vital information.)
~We were putting our stuff in the locker room and gearing up for a swim when Becky screams out in terror, points behind me to the floor and then squeezes her eyes shut.
I didn't know what she was screaming AT but I knew it was on the floor and so UP I went - there I was, 5:30 am and standing on the bench in the gym locker room for who knows why?
It was a mouse (did I mention it was a military gym?). Yep. A mouse. Who revisited us at the doors of the swimming pool a few minutes later. Gross. Oh and it's a military installation so they can't kill it, only catch and release it. What?
~On yet another morning I had to convince the gate guard that we were in fact military and would he PLEASE just believe me because even after 3 minutes of frantic searching I could NOT find my ID card. I, of course, discovered it in my wallet as soon as we got to the gym.
~That same morning I was carrying several bags (still getting the hang of what exactly to bring) and one of the bags had my bra sticking up out of it for all to see, except me, of course - and it's quite a walk to the lockers - military gym - lots of men. You get it.
yea.
And yet we continue....and we will continue to continue.
Because I have hope that my thighs will 'just fall off'.
