here it is!

I held together from 12 noon until 11 pm.
that's 11 hours.
11 pm is when I was in the shower, at home and in sobbing tears.
and I continued in and out of tears all night.
didn't really sleep too much.
my mind and heart were on overdrive.

Honestly. HONESTLY? In the words of Liz, "Who wouldn't want these kids?"
and in my words, "Who would want to hurt these kids?"

I put on a smile, I had 'fun' but it was, in retro spec, one of my harder days.
I now have the desire to have 49 more kids....specifically, THESE 49.
but what's new, right!?

We set up the cake, we set up the photography studio, we decorated a 'limousine' which very closely resembled a hay ride/parade float attached to the back of a truck ;-),  we pinned about 25 dresses (Kara and I became the official 'pinners' ;-), we joined the team of counselors applying make up and hair
(Kara was tagged as a professional hair dresser - she's not technically but close enough! and my line of girls wanting make up grew quickly when the word spread I was a trained make up artist! SO CUTE.)

Precious precious precious.
"I FEEL beautiful!"
Loved hearing things like that come out of those mouths.
I wonder how many times before they have 'felt' beautiful.

I'm sure it's no where near the 1,000 times a day my girls feel beautiful and I ache for these girls that it were that way.

The boys were all in oversized suit jackets, shorts, tennis shoes, bow ties and funky hats....it was out of a story book, really.
The 'oh my that's so cute!!!!' tears were flowing!

The girls were all in oversized prom gowns (yes, many of them were ones we collected through Dressed for Enchantment, that was incredible to see!) - thus the pinning.

We won't be able to post any of the pictures Melissa took for privacy and protection of the kiddos.
Bummer rule for us but easily followed for sure!

here are a few I think I doctored up enough of the night though:

(I DID NOT know that the party colors were black/white/red....TOTAL GOD THING HUH!!!?????? You should have heard me walking into that room - it was almost too much to see God do something that simple - He's supposed to be too big for stuff like that right?  Did I tell you too that all 49 names fit on the cake like a puzzle the first time, with out any planning on my part?  So, if He's into the details of the cake and the party decor....how much more is He into the lives of these babes?)

I'm on Jennie's prayer list so I have been thinking about this camp so much this week. Thanks for giving me a little glimpse of what has been going on. My Dad is returning as a counselor for the second time this summer for the camp here in SA. My mom will be helping with some creative activities for the kids. They said it is life changing!

GREAT JOB! The party looks like a total blast! What a fun blessing for those sweet kids. It makes me miss our camp and campers so much. I still see their faces, their stories fill my heart and I hope and pray I never stop.
