well, that was fun.
totalled up too many numbers last night for our trip.
lots of rental cars (2 here and 1 in Spain)
lots of hotel rooms (2 here, 1 in Spain, 1-2 in Portugal)
lots of shuttles/taxi's to airports (2 here)
and I got curious.
add all that up and even though our trip from the US to Spain is free we are saving a whopping $100 total and adding 2-4 days of extra traveling time (once we get to Spain we'd drive 7 hours to get to the house in Portugal) not to even mention the 'comfort' of traveling on a military plane....someone told us to bring sleeping bags because it's that's cold, actually they told us to just bring one sleeping bag because we'd want to be in it together to get anywhere near warm....(Eclipse anyone ;-)???)
checked on Orbitz this morning.
fly straight from Colorado to Lisbon...1 day of travel...2 less rental cars...4 less hotel rooms...zero taxi's/shuttles....AND it's $100 extra. (maybe, it might have ended up being cheaper depending upon the Space A flight and when we could get on one...if we had to stay extra time at any of the hotels and pay extra days for a rental car - which was very likely - then this was is actually CHEAPER!!! I love cheaper!)

so, for those of you that were curious about my opinion when it comes to flying Space A.

I will have no opinion this time....and I am ecstatic to be able to say that ;-)
we will be gone from the kids less time, will have more time (like 3 extra days) to just vacation, and we'll be warm...er....;-)
relieved and NOW I'm excited.

I just let them loose and boy did they love that!
Nana, Lydia has deemed herself 'in charge' of who's stuff is who's and will be your helper in the suitcase!

After enduring a ridiculous trip home from Mexico, trust me, you made the right decision. Spending the extra $ to save yourself the stress is well worth it.
