this week

didn't sleep great last night.
never do when I have a HUGE week coming up.

on Wed. a few other ladies and I will be driving out to a Royal Family Kids Camp to help beef up their birthday party.

I will be putting together a cake for 100+ people
Melissa will be gathering all her gear for birthday photos of 50 kids

we have to get that all together, drive two hours there, set it all up, we have about 1 min. with each child to take their pics.....yea.....
and then celebrate who they are and rejoice that they were born.

lots to do but more than that lots on my heart.
I have been looking, again, at this site, and it's been a topic of conversation all weekend for Jake and me.
I love it, I do.
I love dreaming about it, I love planning for it, we can't wait.
But that's where my heart gets heavy.

I want these kids in my home NOW.
But that's not what God is calling us to do NOW.

battle.

He will win and I will be grateful.

We will have a blast at this party - we really can't wait!

I just know it will be a 'ride' of a week.

I remember coming home from missions trips in other countries and having months worth of readjusting.
That's kinda how I imagine it's going to feel after just a few hours with these precious kids.

(explanation....most of these kids are in foster care and they are in the exact age range Jake and I want to adopt when they can be the youngest in our family....7-11 yrs old.)

Holly,

I just love your heart for these kids. Foster children, adoption and "children's issues" in general were the reason for my coming to law school and I think of them everyday (especially now, as I study for the bar) as my inspriation and calling to finish. God has not planted that desire in your heart for no reason. He will cause your dreams and His calling to bloom at just the right time. Keep me posted! We are peas in a pod on this issue :) With love, Liza Bush

wow. love your heart, also. hey...i thought of you. finished "Scared" last night (new novel by Tom Davis) and at the end he said his NEXT novel in the series is going to take place in Russia and the story line will be about the child sex trade...i know that's close to your heart! it just made me think of you. and made me be thankful to know you...a woman that LOVES the things He loves!

I love RFKC! And I love you more for helping with the birthday party. The kids are so lucky to have you making the cake! Tim and I were "Aunt and Uncle" one year at RFKC and then the next year Tim wanted to be right with the kids as a counselor. We loved our time at camp and can't stand that our director moved away and no more RFKC in our area!!
