Colorado Part 2 - The reunion.

It was precious.
My mom, Lydia and for 1/2 the time, Samantha, had a sticker chart going to count down the days until our return, so they were all good.
We called on our way home to say we were almost there and we'd be home that night only to get the matter of fact responses:

"I know. Nana already telled me" from Samantha
and:
"I know. We did our last sticker today." from Lydia.

o.k.

No 'YEAH!!!'s' or 'I can't wait!!!!'s' or anything of the sort.
All business....and that's exactly what I would have expected from them.

they are nose to the grind wheel type of girls already and I love it.

We got in later at night than expected due to the lost luggage ordeal but my parents kept them up anyway!
So glad she did.....that might have thrown Lydia too far off course....there were no more squares for the stickers. Don't even want to go there!
It was already past bed time when we got through the door.
We spent a few minutes hugging, kissing and just cuddling - they were ALL over us - and then put them to bed.
It was close to two hours late.

And we all know the rule.
The later you put them to bed, the earlier they wake up and the uglier it is.

So, our first full day with them was good, we just missed them so much we didn't care, but they were tired.

Other than that it was just another day to them.
They got their little presents and that was fun but it was as if nothing had happen.

Really, I know it was because my parents just kept it 'no big deal' and we did the same before we left. Don't know if that's the secret or if it's just their personalities to not really take those kinds of things too hard.
Or, the fact that their daddy has been in and out but always back IN their whole lives?

Who knows? I just know that I love it for them, to get to spend that kind of time with their grandparents and I loved it for us that we got to spend time with just the blessing of our friendship.

And my parents were BEGGING us to do it again next year.
I know that sounds like a joke but I'm not joking....I am however, looking at the next destination ;-)
