it's ok though, because I took pictures and JUST enjoyed the days.
we've been buried in this:
(the girls picnic table in under there, somewhere)

for two days (and still everything is closed tomorrow, so really, it will be three days!)
we shoveled it once, when it was at four inches.
and then we woke up to two more feet.

so, our neighbor rescued us:
(really, we are here until March so the purchase of a snow blower just doesn't seem necessary - so we are really really really really thankful for generous neighbors!)
we played in it for a little while:
until it got too cold (like, five minutes), so we headed inside for:
wrestling with daddy, for hours:
this is Samantha's "I'm having so much fun wrestling with daddy" face:
Baking cookies, and we were SURE to take this plate over to our neighbor, again, who totally rescued us!
(inspired by the snow but also by the recipe on top of the egg carton I had out for breakfast!)
gingerbread houses!!!!!!
(from a box that I purchased after Christmas last year - no, we are not eating them!)
we danced...OF COURSE!:
cuddling, with mommy AND daddy!

just being cute...
and NAPS...lots of naps!
it's been grand.
things not pictured:
*making Christmas presents for family (which burned up a food processor AND a blender...oops!)
*my aching muscles from the shoveling (if one more person says they love the snow ....ugh...just please tell someone else - I do love being locked in with my family...I DO NOT LOVE THE SNOW and I do not relate with you if you do!? I think you actually need to be institutionalized! exaggerating...I'm exaggerating....)
*all the cleaning that got done! every piece of laundry, bathrooms, bedrooms sorted through, etc...
*yummy dinners made
*all the hugs and kisses and prayers together
*the cool rainbow through the clouds this morning
(those last two together were for you Kristen C. ;-) they are real, but they made me think of you! hee hee...)
after a crazy weekend that didn't feel like a weekend, we got these two precious days!!!!
what a gift!

I'm sort of jealous. We never have snow days in So Cal.
Couple things....I love the bead bracelets dangling off Samantha's ears, I'm glad you made use out of the extra fondant strips that didn't make it on my cake, those are some totally rad holiday p.j. bot Jake is sporting, and I can't believe your kids went out in the snow! I'm not going outside until the temperature at least reaches 10 degrees.
that was supposed to be p.j. 'bottoms', I stopped at bot for some reason.
wow! thanks for sharing all of those precious moments!!!
Such precious pictures Holy. So glad you captured the "brightness" of the cold snowy days. Being cooped up in the house can be fun, and you now have the "proof"!
Luv you!
Ok, so now I am misspelling things, like my own daughter's name, Holy for Holly- HA HA!
Now, wasn't that funny!!!!!!!
