1 mi outside the beltway (if you speak "DC")
that translates to a 20-45 min commute for Jake
door to door, depending upon traffic.
from what we understand it's 20 min going in and 45 min coming home.
there is a Pentagon Express bus stop within walking distance and slugging (again, if you speak "DC") all over Annandale.
we got everything on our list except 'IN' the beltway.
but 1 mi. outside!? close enough!
the landlords have already been amazing.
the area will give us the best of both worlds - the closeness without the culture shock.
it's pretty much the same house we have now, ya know, for $1000 more a month!
(our BAH: Basic Allowance for Housing - the $ the military gives us for living expenses when you live off base - is almost exactly $1000 more so it's literally a lateral move for us!!! that's a great thing!)
10,000 sq foot yard - so....BBQ at our place, April 2010!!!

So exciting Holly! Don't you love the trees? Especially coming from Nebraska. Trees are seriously one of the reasons I think I could never go back to Omaha! Can't wait to hear all the exciting adventures in DC! What a fun place to homeschool!!!

Be glad you aren't here yet, Holly! Bases have been closed since Fri pm and we haven't been able to inprocess or get the keys to our house. Household goods arrive Weds and our driveway and front dor can't be reached! Pray for a solution for us! Congrats on the beautiful house! Hope all this snow is gone by the time you get here!
