thank you network television

had conversation about lying this morning.

Lydia and Samantha were telling tall tales about the size of bubbles they could blow with their bubble gum.

I LOVE to have morality conversations when they are not in trouble -I feel like they are more interested and willing to ask questions and accepting of the 'talk' when all is well....and they are not being punished for something.

so.

Lying - it hurts - it hurts you, it hurts others, etc...God asks us not too
that's the direction we headed.
They were really into for some reason...it was a LONG conversation with LOTS of made up scenarios (by them ;-) and LOTS of questions.
so cute.

later:

I am fixing lunch and go to turn on some cartoons to keep them distracted for a few minutes but before I could change the channel a soap opera comes on and what-do-ya-know!?

"You are a LIAR John...a LIAR!" with tears streaming down her face and totally broken.

Lydia and Samantha both exclaim, "MOMMY! HE LIED AND SHE'S HURT!"

hee hee...
So, maybe soap opera's aren't totally a loss after all!?

That was CLASSIC!!!!!
I love it that something as ridiculous as a Soap Opera actually was used for the good. There was probably no better or DRAMATIC example for that exact moment!
Smiling now, as I think about it!!
