(I was kissing the girls goodbye and my brother was right there. I, because I'm a space cadet, said, "we'll be back with GRANDPA FLIP!", to which my brother said, "Grandpa Flip?" .... oh. shoot. )
I then took us to the wrong airport.
Stupid big city.
What kind of city has three possible airports to fly into!???
ggrrr....
so, 1.5 hours after we were supposed to pick him up (we were late anyway, because of traffic, and then we went 40 min's in the opposite direction of the correct airport...MY FAULT)
ggrr....
And THEN we decided to DRIVE to a musem in DC ON FLIPPIN' EARTH DAY!!!!!
ggrr....
and YET,
NONE of that seems to have put any damper on what an awesome time we are all having with each other.
40 min's in the wrong direction meant 40 more minutes of catching up uninterrupted by our babies
'spoiling' the surprise just made for a funnier story
and I now know why I should NEVER drive to the Mall area of DC and that holidays, even smaller ones, are something I will now pay much more attention to before I leave my house.
ALWAYS Metro Holly, always.
I learned a lot and we had fun.
It was all kinda funny actually.
couldn't ask for more!!!

ok, so how tall is your brother? I thought you and your dad were tall but geesh! I kept checking to see where everyone was standing....what beautiful girls you all have...and that's just so stinkin' fun about the whole 7 grandbabies in 2 years! wow!
Geesh your brother is tall! I had to double check to make sure he wasn't standing on a different step, nope. So glad you're getting to connect with them while they're in town! Loved that blog you sent me by the way, thanks!
