let's eat some more elephant!

the rehearsal.
the clouds went away for the BIG day but not for the rehearsal -
which meant that everyone practiced under a covered porch where the BBQ would be served the next day.
which also meant that there wasn't really any practice for Nora and Sophie....
which made this mama nervous! I had even pep talked the older two up just in case the twins refused to go.

Hey, I am a planner...a good planner always has a back up plan!

and, of course, the rain went away after the rehearsal, giving us this cute picture of Daddy and Lydia:

but not before two family members had to be towed out of the mud created by the rain.
TWO.
this was #1.
#2 you'll have to ask Jake and Ron about :-)

the house where Cayla and Seth got married was so beautiful that I even felt like taking a picture of the bathroom!
the same bathroom that Sophie and I had to duke it out in because she refused to use the toilet.
why? because it was black.
she says it was because it was 'too deep'.....it was just black.
I had lost the battle in the airplane bathroom and for some reason I just didn't want to loose again here.
She screamed so loud that I was deep down afraid to even come out of the bathroom.
This was a huge house and our family was sprawled out all over the place all night but you'll never guess who one of the only people in the house at that exact time was??

her daddy.

I'll never forget that.
And I love it when God confirms parenting choices right in the thick of it.
I question myself a lot - good or bad, I don't know - I just know that I love the little nudges of confidence from above.

after dinner at The Fish House....this is what we all looked like.

there aren't a whole ton of pictures from this night because for some of the night I was helping use other people's cameras and the other part of the night I was corralling kids in a VERY not kid friendly house.

It was beautiful - beautiful and scary!
Scary because I can't and don't ever want to afford anything in it.....
so, it was a good, but undocumented night ;-)
