Lydia is becoming a little girl.
That stage where everything is just a little awkward.
She talks baby-talk to be 'funny', and she thinks it's hilarious.
She makes up words for things that already have words,
because the words they have are just boring to her?
She's just a tad bossy,
and gets really mad when her sisters don't do exactly as they're told....
...and I do mean exactly
...and I do mean really mad!
She's all a first born, perfectionist, mother-hen and helper should be, but more.
And I can't describe in words how much I love her.
How much she makes my heart feel so big in my chest that I think it's going to just pop out.
How even when she's making those super loud, obnoxious, almost 6 yr old little girl noises, the sound of her voice is one of four of my favorite sounds here on this earth.
She's handled this move as if nothing happened.
She loves everything and talks about missing her friends but with great attitude and understanding.
I am proud of her.
I am honored to have been chosen to be her mama.
"Little Girl" quirks and ALL.
It goes from this:
Me: Lydia it's sprinkling outside!!!! (we LOVE rain)
Lydia: Oh wow! There must be a dessert, we're the whip cream and we're getting sprinkles on us!
which is cute,
to this:
the new word she made up for 'Buckle'
is....
.....(please don't be offended, she has never heard the word this sounds like, it's totally innocent)
'Fuckle'
which is not cute.
especially because it made mommy giggle, which meant that she thought it was ok to incorporate into a song - and this song had 1 word that was repeated over and over again.
(I tried to hold it together, I really did, but I'll admit it, I failed.)
We're working on her selfishness, another gem of this stage, and she's trying hard.
I love it.
She cares about people, a lot.
I think acts of service or encouragement might be her love languages?
Either way, I just love it that she's trying.
She is my first born -
I'll keep her....cursing and all...I swear!

Haha, that is funny funny funny!! Seriously, your kids have not heard bad words? You are a GOOD mama!!
Yesterday my 4 year old was rhyming in the car (one of his favorite activities). We encourage him to even use makeup words, just so that he can keep rhyming. Yesterday, he started rhyming the word "luck"...
It is funny...it is cute..it is innocent.....I'd be laughing!! wait...I am laughing!!
