it doesn't matter, does it?

my desk work (bills, budget, registrations, traffic ticket - eek, I was in a hurry!, Ohio rental house stuff, emails, babysitters, etc...) is completely CAUGHT UP.

the insides of all three massively large outside trash cans are sparkly clean

every piece of laundry in this house is clean and folded

breakfast and lunch have been served and cleaned up, sort of

we read a bazillion library books

plants have been watered

my bedroom is pretty ;-)

and four-thousand other little things have been done as I walk through the house....

but it just doesn't matter, does it?

because it never ends.
no wonder we stay-at-home-moms (shoot...moms. period.)
always feel so dag-gum defeated.

and to all you not-neat freaks out there, stop beating yourself up....
it's OVER-RATED!!!
trust me. I know.

I knew this post was headed somewhere. :)

Is that a new painting above your couch in the living room?

Of all the things there are to look at in that picture, that's where my eye landed.

Your first few lines had me feeling pretty bad about myself. But the pictures made me feel much better. :) Thanks for that. I was just walking through the kitchen thinking, "What the heck? I just cleaned this a few hours ago! I cannot keep up!

I totally agree. Why even clean?? Since we added one more kid to the bunch and my older girls just play the day away, the house is a disaster by evening and I am too busy dealing with the baby to find time to clean it! (of course, they help with the mess, but sometimes it's just a battle!) Maybe it will get better when Megan goes back to school next month...

By the way, Courtney still talks about her AWANA buddy Samantha every once in awhile! She really enjoyed playing with her!

Holly, I love you.
Thanks for posting that.
We're having guests over (again) because for some reason we seem to entertain all.the.time. in the summer??? Anyway, my head nearly popped off earlier. As I was working to clean and prepare, they were destroying. Everywhere I looked, there was more. Seriously, I lost my mind. It is never ending. I felt like the worst mom ever today. With the worst kids. For real. Thanks for reminding me that my kids are normal. I needed that.

I have to add ~ I've never had sparkling clean garbage cans.
