it's just annoying.

me.
mowing the lawn.
had to shut the mower off several times to hear things like this:

1. Mama, Samantha says she doesn't love me anymore.

2. Mama, Lydia won't make me a love book.

3. (her) Mama, Sophie left a toy on the ground and I stepped on it and hurt my foot.
(me) Ok, I'm sorry, can you just pick it up and put it away so no one else steps on it?
(her) No, Sophie already did.

4. Mama, can you staple my paper?

5. Mama, there's a bug on the window.

DID ANYONE HEAR ME WHEN I SAID PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME STOP THE MOWER UNLESS YOU'RE HURT, LIKE....REALLY HURT?
LIKE, BLEEDING OR BROKEN HURT?

swim lessons aren't until 12:30 in the afternoon.
which means I get shot at relentlessly with the,
"Mama, is it time for swim lessons yet?" question for the several hours before we need to leave the house
by someone, anyone! excuse me if I'm twitching...

Lydia is a true first born and needs to know what we are doing every moment of every day from this moment until eternity please.
I don't like to not know things, no matter how insignificant the lack of knowledge may be. And sometimes I just don't know what we're going to do or what we want to do and saying "I don't know" sends us both in to a tisy.

Samantha, "No, you may not have any makeup" every. single. time. we. are. getting. in. the. car. in. 100. degree. weather. and. mommy. is. frazzled. and. her. hands. are. full. and. she. is. buckling. many. children.

Nora and Sophie....well, they are three....the. end.

Who do they think they are anyway? Little girls?

(FOR THE RECORD: my little precious girls DO NOT annoy me...just these silly little things they do can sometimes get under my impatience, immature skin...that's all...and it's funny when I see it all written down, which makes it WAY less annoying, right?)

isn't it GREAT how tired swimming makes them??

and a BIG thing we've been working on/talking to our kids about this week has been the whole "needing to know what we are doing every.single.second." they need to trust us.

kind of convicting to me.
because I'M that way..with God..needing to KNOW and not trusting...

Oohhh... Courtney... that's good!! They need to trust us. Wow. Very convicting. Jer. 29:11 has been "my verse" since college. I had a really hard time being married and not knowing where we were going to be living the year after college. I want to know! I need to trust. Wow. I knew I liked you. :)
