birthday shopping for Lydia DONE
(thanks to my little Samantha helper!)
host dinner for several families we'd been wanting to have over DONE
(it was a random group: one neighbor, one work and one church and we all sat around and talked forever, the kids played great...it was just good!)
go to a church and feel like it's our home DONE
(a church we've been tossing around since first visiting there...it was the second one we visited! we love it. we love it's simplicity, it's heart and the fact that we are not wowed by the programs or people but by the presence of the Holy Spirit living and working in the hearts of the people...I don't know how else to put it but it feels like a safe place for sinners and I love that, being a sinner and all.)
explore a new antique town and find a super cool restaurant that gives you three pieces of home made cheesecakes and pies at the end because your girls are so cute DONE
(that was just fun! Kensington, MD was the town. 1894 Cafe & Tavern was the restaurant. Antiques were the goal. Nora and Sophie even got a nap on mommy and daddy out of the deal!)
came home and spontaneously rearranged our den/basement area just cause DONE
aahh....
soakin' it in. soakin' it in.
now it's Monday.
everyone is a tad grumpy and we start VBS this afternoon, every afternoon all week.
I have a funny feeling about it.
It's at another church (not our new home!) and we've had some quirky interactions with them that have sent me home in deep thought and frustration rants on the phone to some of you about the local church....
I'm TRYING to be loving.
For me it's always harder to be loving to those who are supposed to know and practice truth and aren't.
And I have a feeling I'm going to be in 'spring training' this week ;-)

Oh, I thought VBS was in the morning for y'all so I was waiting to call until this afternoon to see how it went! I guess I'll call later later. Praying it was more fun than stressful. :)
