this is how it went down

it started with an email that went like this:

So.....today I was out with a few home school families from the Home school Group. There was a gal there who I've known as an acquaintance for a number of years. We've both been involved with the group and have chatted here and there at different events and field trips. She was mentioning that she is headed to D.C. for a weekend trip with her sister in order to attend the Glenn Beck rally (I had no idea who he was until today :) ). Anyway, she was mentioning that she was trying to find a place to stay, but all of the places she had been calling were full....

So...I opened my mouth and said, "Oh, I know of this home school gal that just moved out to that area from Nebraska. She is outgoing and fun - probably just crazy enough to host a couple strangers from NE". And she said, "Really? Can we ask her?"

And that's exactly what she did...she asked and I said, HECK YES!

The rally was this past weekend so for the past few weeks this friend of a friend and I have been emailing plans and scoping out each others blogs.

On Friday night I picked this new friend and her sister up from the airport....

...and it was a blast!!!

I have never hosted strangers, but I have been the stranger a few times and was unusually excited about this gig.

Lori and Tracy...you are welcome back ANY TIME...just bring your families next time, k?

And thanks Jenni...for only saying I was 'crazy enough'! Crazy is one thing, crazy enough is like saying I am perfect - you're so sweet!
