Bittersweet

I am reading this book:

and I am loving it.

I heard about it at the Leadership Summit and was drawn to it for no real solid reason.
She didn't speak, she just introduced a speaker and so they plugged her writing.

I started it and thought, 'oh how nice, what a sweet book for the end table'
but I found myself choosing it over other books in all it's sweetness and the further I got, the harder it hit my heart, the deeper the digging into my soul it did.

I rarely feel like I can pick up a book and relate to the author.
Even in fiction I don't usually pretend to be one of character or even relate to the characters totally (obviously, small parts but usually not on a larger scale).
This book has been different in that way for me.

I feel like we are kindred spirits one minute and I'm mad at her for exposing my sin in the next.
I have had to stop reading a few times because I can't see through my tears.
The tears that make you feel like that grip you had on sin is releasing - the good tears, the moving forward tears.

I am loving it and I am loving that it is being used the way it is in my life.
For instance, her words on Grace and what it means to actually live Grace will not leave me alone, and I love it.
They transformed me in ways I didn't know I even needed transformation.

Thank you Lord for drawing me to her words -
I love how she loves you, I love how simple the message is.

And I just discovered her BLOG too!
