had a girls night out last night.
it's been a llloonnngg time.
it was good.
I laughed. A lot.
oh. and there is no better way to get your foot examined at a running store than on a girls night out.
that way when the dude tells you you need a MENS WIDE shoe, you have someone to cracks jokes with about it.
and when you're trying on running clothes you can run across the store, say, "tell me if I jiggle too much" and crack jokes about that too
and when the dude asks if you play soccer because your hip alignment is off, you have someone to laugh at you (my hip...only one?...is off because I have had many babies in a short amount of time mister...NOT because I play soccer...geez)
and when you have sticker shock because people charge WAY TOO MUCH for this equipment, she can buy your dinner to easy the pain
really. I will always be buying my shoes at a girls night out.
stole this from Jody who stole it from someone else, but it's precious and true and sums up my night last night.

“and i was struck by what happens when we try to just lay it down. and put it out there with each other. and invite each other in. as much as we can in those moments. to just be women. and be together …….without competing and with lots of honesty. the thing that’s supposed to happen with sisters coming together happens………..you leave feeling inspired. and like you have pretty hair. and like you did something right this week. and like you have something to offer.
all the things us women need to feel from each other over and over again. all the things that only women can give to one another. when we lay down the expectations, the comparisons, the competition and just really try to see one another.”
