we stuck around town this year and our hosts:
Johnathan and Liza
were kind enough to let us be a part of their Turkey Day Shin Dig!
it was comfy and relaxed and yummy and everything Thanksgiving should be:
there 'may' have been a battle of the cranberry sauce in the kitchen...my HOMEMADE vs. his CANNED.
there was really never any contest...the poor can never stood a chance ;-)
the living room was nice and quiet and clean until we got there!
"Slaw" one of Jake's buddies from work, also 'shin dug' with us!
Liza's mother and sister were just a 'tad' popular with my girls....I felt like I was picking ticks out of their skin all day. (cute little blond headed ticks that is)
it's blurry but it's as close as we're getting to the whole crew.
I'm not in there, obviously, and one and a 1/2 kids is hidden.
Liza's mother and father are at the table on the right and her sister and brother-in-law are on the left.
(that whole crew flew in from Louisiana, where Johnathan and Liza hail from!)
**sigh** the only thing missing was OUR family.
it's special to be with friends on days like this but my heart always yearns to just be home.
Thank you Johnathan and Liza, you were THE very next best thing - your family was so comfortable and easy and we felt so 'in'!
We LOVE you!!!
