quick recap...

ok.
it was....weird.
quirky was the word I landed on in the end.

the short version is this:
there's a Hollywood record label owner who has a lot of friends in DC and wanted to get them all in a room together with all her California political friends to show each other what they're all doing about this issue.

oh...and just to fill the time we'll bring people in who are actual survivors and actually working in the field and actually operating safe houses and actually in law enforcement to talk a little.
but only a little because there were 15 or so speakers and 6-7 Congressmen who popped in when their schedules allowed (who said NOTHING but a lot of hot air and took time away from the people actually doing stuff).

oh...and we'll invite some other people from the community to watch.

I DID get to see Linda Smith of Shared Hope speak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and several survivors who are doing great!
like....that's just cool.

oh...and Nancy Pelosi.  Which I can't decide to be happy for or embarrassed over?

There was a LOT of dumb politician talk...taxes, more government services, "without a number we can't start working on the problem" type of quotes...

but there was a LOT more of the good stuff.

Not one mention of the link to por  no.... (sorry, I don't want that word to come up in a search).
But then again...it's legal so it must not be the root of the problem?!

Oh...one more dumb quote.

"Sexual abuse was discovered in the 1980's".......what!?
Dude...have ya read Genesis!?

Ok.
Now that I've mostly blasted this day I promise to be back with the good stuff...
