exceptional people

so, who were these exceptional people we just got to spend Monday-Thursday with????
I call them Mamaw and Papaw, always have.
My parents call them Donna, Michael and friends.

My parents came to know Jesus as their saviour and friend when they were pregnant with me, living in Hawaii, too young and in an almost already broken relationship after less than a year together.
Someone my dad worked with, and his wife, witnessed to my parents and they both, on their own, without telling eachother, accepted Christ ;-).

They met Michael and Donna at their first church.
Michael and Donna took my parents into their lives and just started POURING.
Spiritually, physically, emotionally, etc....
Michael and Donna were there when I was born and have been there ever since.

(for example: Papaw was the only one when I was a baby, after MANY OTHER KINDS OF ATTEMPTS, who was able to break me of biting other kids, myself and inanimate objects....for about 10 years they even owned a couch with my teeth marks still in it!)

They literally became my spiritual grandparents.
Which is why I call them by such intimate names despite their lack of blood relation.

We ARE family.
The end.

I am who I am spiritually in LARGE part because they are who they are spiritually.
And I know not everyone has that.

They have two boys of their own, who I also consider family and grew up with doing family vacations, holidays and our family even lived with them once when my dad was in training.
They have three 'other' grandkids besides me, my brother and our kids ;-).

So, Mamaw, Papaw and their three 'other' grandkids came from Georgia to hang out, love on and connect with us!!

It was glorious.
the kids played so great together and I'm sure have bonded for life!
Thank you Mamaw and Papaw....
I love you and that was so precious.

Next time, let's do it at your place!

I want to know how he got you to stop biting? I NEED to know - we have a recurring problem at our house since Daddy left and I am at a loss. :o)! I would be willing to borrow Pawpaw for a bit. JK. Thanks for sharing your heritage with us!
