back to the grind

sleeping in
eating massive amounts of sugar, butter, bread, and creamy things
doing whatever we want that day
watching movie after movie with my husband after the kids bed time
cooking, or not
crafting, or not
traveling, or not
Celebrating
reading reading reading
that was our Christmas break and
it was glorious.

back to the grind this morning.

I'm not sure what I'm more excited about.
How glorious our break was or how glad I am to be back in routine?

That's THE table! The $15 one!!
It was a dining room table.
I thought it was $20 but I happened upon the 25% off everything day at the thrift store making it $15!!!!
Jake chopped the legs down and has had to work on them three times since (THANK YOU BABE!!!).
I spent about $20 in supplies to refinish it.
we LOVE it!
It's huge, but not too huge, it's pretty but it was only $35 so if it gets loved, it gets loved.
perfect!
I've had my eye out for a table to do this too for a while.
The timing was so perfect.
Jake was off, I was alone so I could get it home easy, Jake was off so I could spend time refinishing it,
Jake was off so he could help me work on it, Jake was off....the end.

what? not everyone's school day consists of bellybutton talking lessons?
well, then they are missing OUT!
(actually, it's an inny)

fun new chalk boards bought in Colonial Williamsburg!  HUGE hit!

school is done, chores are done, I went running at 5:15am for the first time in three weeks (I've been able to go later), I'm dressed!, the girls are dressed!...

ahh!
feels good.

Now we're just awaiting the arrival of a family of six that we met two weeks ago at church to come stay with us for two days since they are being booted from their temporary home early and their permanent home isn't ready yet.
What? You've never had a family of six stay with you that you've only known for two weeks?
It's the military...this is how we roll people.

SO FUN to be putting our guest rooms to use AGAIN!
So So blessed to have those!

1) Nice table!

2) Your house always looks really pretty. I love your style.

3) What is in your green juice? Do your girls like it?

4) Do you always look like that while you do school? As my kids would say, "you look like a REAL teacher!"

Ha ha, the belly button shot got a Veggie Tales song stuck in my head... "I need to tell you somethin', I don't got a belly button....." Thanks for that. You are an inspiration. I sure don't look like that when I'm teaching school, and I AM a real teacher! Happy New Year to "y'all" eh?
