winter blues

....that about sums it up.

back to bullets:

**I have NO complaints but I am just 'down'.
it's February, that's all I can figure.
it's been a FUN winter, and I'm still 'down'.

**it looks like this outside almost all the time lately:

why is the snow melting from the bottom up?

**a sweet, awesome, mom told me last week at gymnastics that you are allowed to use the pool for free 1 hour before each class you pay for, uh....THANK YOU!!! My little ladies have serious cabin fever.
Sophie asks me every.single.day., about.six.times.a.day. if it's warm enough to go ride bikes yet?
Nope.
But we can swim!!!!

**Samantha, our little gymnist.
This is a 6-12 yr old class...she is still five but the five year old class was a joke (for her).
This class is actually a joke too, but it's 1/2 the cost of a real gymnastics center....I'll milk it for as long as we can but this little gumbi is going to need more - she is adorable and I LOVE watching the other mom's faces when they see her do something we see her do EVERY.day. just watching a movie or walking across the room (if you call cartwheels walking anyway).  She really has some fun talents on those mats!

she was doing a hand stand here by herself and the instructor was poking her calves with his thumbs to test her strenghth...she wasn't budging.
it makes my stomach hurt looking at it now!
again, she's five...she's the only one in the class who does this - and I realize this reeks of bragging, but I'm her mama, she is talented, she is ADorable and it's my blog so I get to brag! see:

**the 8 foot snow man is dying...so I let them have at it ;-)

**MATH!!!!!!!!!!!! We have come out of the fog people.
Last week - I hated teaching it, this week....LOVE IT!

Jake is still working with them but I am in love with McRuffy Press First Grade Math and want the world to KNOW!!!!!!

**Science...we're plugging away and skipping a ton of "boring".  Will do a complete overhaul this summer though - science is too fun to be treated this way!

**Reading...I have been and continue to be in love with the Spalding method.  I have the Write Road to Reading and I kinda have this to go with it (I can't find my actual book, must be discontinued?...sad! but I'm sure the new one is even better, I may even do that for next year.).
It's a doozy of a study for mom, but SO worth it, I feel like I'm learning to read and spell all over again and I'm loving that!

**The rest of school is going well, but those were what was on my mind right now.

**Bible study tonight...man I need that time.

** Running...you can always keep track of me/with me using that little side bar thingy from 'daily mile'.  I am still running.  I am perpetually cold, every day, because I can't warm up after I've been out there for an hour.  I am running on auto pilot and waiting for spring, it is not fun right now, I know it will get fun, but it's just not.

(nearest gym would be about $100 a month, nearest free/base gym would cost us 2-3 hours in the middle of the day...both cost too much, outside is my only choice right now, it's that or nothing and according to Courtney 'I've been bit' which means even though it's awful I can't not run, so out I go)

**gotta run, Bible study is here tonight and there is a very sad bathroom waiting for my elbow grease!

Ugh, at least your snow is melting, I think ours may be permanently plastered to the ground. If it ever gets above 10 degrees again I'm going to let the girls out to demolish our snowman too, we've been looking at him long enough!
