Jake and I have a new obsession.
I bought it for the girls....I swear.
REaLly! I did!
But it's so super hard to just sit there and watch them play when I have HOURS of my jr. high life invested in this puppy!

My mom and dad come on THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YIPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(and I may have to challenge my dad to some Mario after I feed them some Thai Chicken Wraps!)

Jake is sick. Not yipee.
He laid really really low today though and I smacked him with a fly swatter every time he came near any one of us so here's hopin'....
(ok, I just made up the fly swatter part, but all the rest is true.)

I have about 1,000 conversations a day with my girls that make me deep belly laugh and would make anyone deep belly laugh but literally, I sit down here to try and think of ONE and come up empty.
They are funny.  Trust me.  They really really are.

I have 10 or 11 posts about Domestic Sex Trafficking floating around in my head right now.
They are coming - when I have 30 min's of uninterrupted thinking time.
So....not sure when that will be, but one day, it will.
(church this week was better but still so super hard, it's because we're still 'new' and I don't feel like there's a lot I can do there yet - I'll elaborate more in one of those posts that's clanging around)

Making a boob/belly cake right now.  Burn the first 'soccer' ball - a little peeved...ok, a LOT peeved.

Speaking of soccer...Lydia and Samantha are starting soccer in a few weeks....how CUTE!

I just finished Memoirs of a Geisha (thumbs down....not a fan of glamorizing trafficking, I don't care WHAT culture we're talking about or what time in history or...anything...just not a fan. AND it wasn't even a true story in the end, how did I miss that until it was all over?!)
Am reading The Gift of Fear by Gavin DeBecker (THUMBS UP! everyone should read this...NO, REALLY.  EVERYONE.) and Omnivore's Dilema by Michael Pollan (thumbs up, it's fun and it's about food, so really, you can't go wrong!) and The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey (HUGE thumbs up! Loving this! Why o why did I wait to read this for sooo long!?) and dude...I am needing a really good, fluffy, escape, abuse free, trafficking free, fiction.

I don't even have time to blog, when do I 'read'?  I know, I know.
#1 - I listen to books on my iPod while I run.
#2 - I have to read to go to sleep every night, even if I'm wiped.
#3 - I read while I eat meals sometimes...most times.
#4 - don't tell...but sometimes I even take books with me into the....no, I can't tell you that, that would be embarrassing.
#5 -  I don't normally read that many books at once - these might last a while!

Lydia told me and Jake she knew who she was going to marry the other day.
We kinda sat there silent for a minute and then I couldn't handle it any MORE.
"Who? Lydia?" (as calmly as I could possibly muster! this was the first time she's ever said anything of the sort!!!!)
her: "Oh, I can't tell you."
Jake: "why?"
her:  "because mommy will freak out"
me:  "What does 'freak out' mean Lydia?"
her:  "I don't know, but it's really really loud!"

fair enough.
she was right.

Sounds like you need some fun books to read, and since I know many, I thought I'd share :) Check out The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde--the first in a very fun series. All silly and yet so wonderful in all the references to literary works....
The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen was fantastic and whimsical. The Pleasure of My Company by Steve Martin, yes, THAT Steve Martin. It's good. Cold Comfort Farm is a fun one (by Stella Gibbons). There, that should tie you up for a while. And if you haven't yet checked out 100 Cupboards by N.D. Wilson (it's a children's book and the start of a short series) you should--very much in the Narnia tradition :)
