this little light of mine.....

I was singing this to the girls last night as I was putting them to bed and God was speaking to me that this is not just 'my' light but my girls lights too:

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let HER shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let Lydia shine, let Samantha shine, let Nora shine, let Sophie shine

Hide her under a bushel, NO! I'm gonna let her shine!....

Don't let Satan blow her out, I'm gonna let her shine!....

Let her shine 'til Jesus comes, I'm gonna let Lydia shine
Let Samantha shine let Nora shine let Sophie shine!!!!


I believe my mission in parenting is to teach them to love, to model where true power comes from and to teach them self-discipline (2 Tim 1:7)
that's been my mommy verse

in other words, teach them to leave me and go serve God, not man
or, in this case, LET them leave me and go serve Christ, not man/me.

that song was a precious reminder of what my job as their mommy really is....
it's to teach them to Shine in a lost World and discipline myself to LET them, when that time comes!
as physically crazy as my days are, those will be some crazy days on my heart!

I'm already crying and it's years down the road....
