I have used vinegar as a fabric softener for a long time and just read that you can add a few drops of essential oil to your jug to make all your clothes smell like whatever you want! (that's on order, I'll let you know!)
It might be over the top for you but if you're intrigued I just googled homemade laundry soap - there's liquid versions and powdered versions - I opted for powder because it took about 10 minutes from start to finish to make and stores nicer - personal preference for sure!If you decide to join me 'over the top' I'd love to know...I need some company ;-)

you pour one cup of vinegar into either a fab soft. ball or if your washer has a cup in the middle thingy of the pole that sticks up out of your washer, pour it into that -
if you're still confused, just use it like you would any other liquid fab. soft.
Joining in the confusion on vinegar, does it make your clothes smell that way?
I love that you did this. I am all for granola, I borrowed an old bread machine from a friend and I swear I am never buying store bought again. In addition I made blueberry jam this week and it is awesome!
I just might try the vinegar. Have you used the soap yet? Are your clothes clean?! JK, kind of. Can you tell a difference?
