Technically it was yesterday.
No picture because we never really got dressed.
oh yes, we are starting out fabulously.
I remember my mom making us get up, get dressed and start school on time most days.
I wanted that for us too but after a weekend that went like this:
Friday - zoo in the morning, slumber party at night
Saturday - air show in the morning, small group at night
Sunday - church in the morning, youth group at night
and all the girls went with us/participated with us for all of it.
not to mention (or to mention) the Thunderbirds performing every day from 1-4p (NAP TIME!....or not.)
Samantha, who usually wakes up at 6:50am on the dot, didn't stumble out of bed until 9am.
Lydia was up by 8am but was a zombie until 10am - yes, she watched TV that entire time.
The babies slept in about 30 seconds ;-) but were tired for sure.
So, we started school but, already on the first day, we had some flexibility going on.
Babies got to go first, which was not the original plan, with a few library books.
Lydia, Samantha and I started about 10:30a just about the time Lydia was emerging from the depths of funkness.
And we are still missing a book that should have been shipped a while back - oh well, we were ready to start so we just did.
It was a blast. Weird morning and all.
Looked a little like this:
Prayer
Memory Verse
(the Lords Prayer - all of it - they almost have the whole thing down! - and I mean the whole thing, not a 'kid' version - they amaze me.)
Bible story, questions about Bible story and coloring page to go with Bible story
A worksheet on how to tell time
(Lydia is fascinated with what time it is so we are hitting that hard!)
Two worksheets from our Rod and Staff curriculum
for Lydia (how to use books)
One worksheet from a preschool book
purchased at Wal-mart for Samantha (the letter S and farm animals)
Go Fish (the Disney Princess version, of course!)
and we were done by 11:10am
I had a blast, Lydia and Samantha had a blast, the babies did great all caged up in their play room
It was a success and we did it all over again today!
Only today we started at 8:30a and were done by 9:10a and we went in the planned order ;-)
Maybe we'll get a picture on Thursday (we won't be doing 'school' on Wednesdays - that will be our outing day!)

How exciting!! It sounds like you've got a good system going...I'll have to take some pointers from you...even though we're a ways away from school. :)
And...you don't have to deal with the 1st-Day-of-School-Mom-Blues. I'll be doing that next week!! Glad it's off to such a smooth start!!
keep posting all these ideas!!! i love them.
Way to go! Sounds like an awesome start! Looking forward to pictures!
Love hearing about homeschool- I am going to steal your ideas!
