I know, you all are on pins and needles!
I have just finished my first batch (which was actually a triple batch) of laundry soap and I am sufficed to say that we are sold. It lasted exactly 3 months (to the day!)
So, I'd say one batch lasts us one month and I'd guess that's it's around $2 to make that one batch - wow!
I made a second triple batch, I used Ivory Soap this time just because it was easier to track down.
I haven't seen any fading in our clothes.
I still use Clorox color safe bleach for all my stain removals and vinegar (no essential oils) for my fab softener.
I am still searching for a way to make my clothes smell fragrancy
Right now they just smell like nothing.
Not bad but not like I'd hope!
Just a reminder, here was the recipe
1 c. Borax
1 c. Washing Soda
2 c. shredded Ivory Soap (or Fels Naptha)
use 1 - 2 tbs per load.

Okay... I'm totally addicted to your blog and it makes me want to be a mom so badly :-)
So I love this Laundry soap idea... I'm always looking for earth friendly cheap ways to change my lifestyle. One question before I jump on the wagon though... What's washing soda and were do I get it? -Heidi C.
I so want to try this as soon as I finish getting my house unpacked and painted!!!! Ditto on the above question.
